Linus Will Also Re-Release the Band’s Two Previous CDs, Hot Damn! and Shakin’ in the Barn

MISSISSAUGA, ON – Linus Entertainment announces the signing of  The Mojo Gurus and will release the group’s new CD, Let’s Get Lit with…the Mojo Gurus, on March 24. Linus Entertainment, which is distributed in the U.S. by Koch Entertainment Distribution, will also simultaneously re-release the band’s last two CDs as well, Hot Damn! and Shakin’ in the Barn.  

The Mojo Gurus are a Tampa Bay area-based roots rock ‘n’ roll band consisting of Kevin Steele on lead vocals and harmonica, Doc Lovett on guitar and vocals, Vinnie Granese on bass and vocals and Mark Busto on drums. The group’s music has been described as “rowdy blooze, rockabilly and honky-tonk…The Mojo Gurus deliver rowdy rock ‘n’ roll with a whole lot of twang and plenty of roadhouse attitude, at once evoking the Stones, Sun Records and the thrill of life in the fast lane.” (Wade Tatangelo, Creative Loafing) 

On Let’s Get Lit with…the Mojo Gurus, the band combines healthy doses of straight-ahead rock ‘n’ roll with a southern flavor, hard-core honky tonk, rhythm and blues and even a little surf rock – all played with the energy and swagger of a Saturday night tent revival meeting – for a sound that recalls groups like the Georgia Satellites and Jason and the Scorchers.    

The band’s last CD, Shakin’ in the Barn, which was produced by Jack Douglas (John Lennon, Aerosmith), will also be released on March 24, along with the Mojo Gurus’ 2004 release, Hot Damn!. Both albums received extensive airplay on both CMJ reporting “core” stations and at Americana radio.

The band will support the release of Let’s Get Lit with…the Mojo Gurus with constant touring both in the U.S. and Canada, including two special shows during the upcoming SXSW Music Festival in Austin: the 7^th Annual Florida Bandango at the Yard Dog Folk Art Gallery on March 18 from Noon-6PM; and the True North Records/Linus Entertainment Showcase at The Chuggin’ Monkey on March 20 from 5-7 PM. On many of the Mojo Gurus tour dates, they’ll be paired with label mates The John Henrys.
