Acclaimed Singer-Songwriter Dulcie’s Taylor’s Multi-Talents Shine on New Edges of Silver EP, Coming June 30th from Mesa/Bluemoon Recordings

ARROYO GRANDE, CA – Mesa/Bluemoon Recordings is excited to announce the release of a new five-song EP from acclaimed singer-songwriter Dulcie Taylor, titled Edges of Silver, on June 30th. Four of the tracks were produced by George Nauful, co-produced by Damon Castillo and Dulcie Taylor, with the last track produced by Grammy-winning pop producer, Bob Cutarella.

Edges of Silver is the follow-up release to her critically-acclaimed 2021 recording, Rediscovered, which showcased Dulcie’s exquisite vocals on a set of six songs she had previously recorded and been reimagined on that disc. Rediscovered and a prior EP have combined to generate over 500,000 streams.

Taylor has long been a favorite of critics both locally and around the world.  About an earlier recording, New Times writer Glenn Starkey wrote: “When Dulcie Taylor left the East Coast for California, it was a gift to local Americana fans. This gifted singer-songwriter fit right into the local music scene, playing all around the Central Coast, winning Best Songwriter in the New Times Music Awards twice. These previously released songs have been ‘remixed, remastered, with some rerecording,’ and the results are nothing short of astonishingly beautiful.”

These five tracks on Edges of Silver take the listener on a deeply moving, nostalgic journey that starts with a look at why almost everyone breathing now has the “Back Beat in His Blood,” to a very tenderly remembered love affair where “We Almost Got It Right,” to a lover’s promise, in these tumultuous times, of always providing a ‘”Soft Place to Fall,” to the acknowledgment that even inside an unmistakably true romance, “Sometimes Love Ain’t Enough,” to the truth that always, even on the darkest night, the moon is out there “Somewhere Bright.”

Dulcie Taylor’s Notes about Each Song

1)      Back Beat in His Blood – Rock ‘n’ Roll, and all its manifestations, has been around so long now, most everyone has the back beat in his blood, and from so many different directions – The Beatles, Hendrix, Dylan, Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson, Aretha – to name a few. And all this fabulous music began and rose out of the historic background of the times, each shaping the other.

2)      We Almost Got It Right – a love song to a dearly beloved departed lover – The singer is taking a nighttime stroll down memory lane, hoping to figure out “who we were.” “We didn’t know what we were doing, but God knows we tried” – we “almost got it right.”

3)      Soft Place to Fall – whenever the hard times hit or the bad situations come around, here’s what you can do – “Call me, you know I’ll be your soft place to fall.”

4)      Sometimes Love Ain’t Enough – the love was really real and present but it wasn’t enough to make it work. When the singer looks back, the story and the message are still perfectly clear –  “Sometimes Love Ain’t Enough.”

5)      Somewhere Bright – a couple struggling to keep their love alive, trying hard to get back the trust they’ve lost, are saying hurtful things to each other. The night sky is filled with clouds and when they look up, it’s hard to see the moon. But they need to remember that even on the darkest night, the moon is out there “Somewhere Bright.”
